Welcome!
This is a one-time workshop for self-employed musicians working hard to get to the next level of income generated through performing.
Topics covered:
Two systems for methodically valuing your time;
Accurate strategies for quoting sustainable fees and negotiating with multiple factors (and some instructive practice scenarios, which are all 100% real, all with hidden twists to unlock);
Building Tours through Showcasing: Canadian provincial, US regional, US national, and international booking conferences, who makes decisions behind the scenes, and how to secure the most coveted showcase slots;
Ideas for increasing your production value (and the fees you can command);
US Work Visas, and how to plan for international taxes.
The names of people, organizations, and networks that can open doors for you (saving you a year of googling, plus information that is not online anywhere).
Format:
Group lectures, practical negotiation scenario experience, and take-home Excel spreadsheet templates.
A personal guarantee that Dr. Bridge will either know the answer to your questions, or will put you in touch with a person who does.
After we finish on Sunday at noon, we’ll head over to Chester Station (10-min subway) for a backyard networking / pizza social.
Coffee is provided at the workshop, including non-dairy milks (of course!).
Schedule:
Saturday, June 7, 9:30am - 1pm
Sunday, June 8, 9:30am - noon (plus 1pm-3pm backyard piazza social near Chester Station)
Venue: Heliconian Hall, 35 Hazelton Avenue (Yorkville)
